Eric,
I really liked your post about the museum exibit. When Eudora Welty was asked about the poverty during Great Depression she would say that back then people did not know that they were poor. It is interesting that a lot of people are quite happy with what they have untill the concept of poverty is introduced. Miss Welty also said that South was very poor back then anyway. I myself reallyl liked the exhibition, it is clear that for those who lived back then it was the time of their lives, time to develop friendships, to fall in love, to raise children, to enjoy the circus comming to town, rtc. etc.

Thanks so much for your interest in the art scene in Northeast Louisiana and for turning that interest into such a worthwhile project that will undoubtedly benefit so many. I am thrilled that events produced by the Masur Museum spauned this undertaking, and I know you will find many, equally as inspiring programs from other organizations.

The blog looks great, Eric, especially with your images. It was nice to see a familiar face on our adventure to Northern Louisiana. You barely mentioned your own work being in the exhibition–you are too modest! Anyway, I hope we’ll get to see lots more images from exhibitions up in your parts in the future.
